One of the dangers of the excitement of the New Year is having too many goals on your to do list.
I get it – hope is in the air and you have a fire within you to accomplish it all.
“This will be the year”, you say! Never mind you’ve said that for the past 5 years. 😉
The reality is you can’t do it all and the research is unanimous that narrowing your focus on 1-2 goals actually increases your chances to not only accomplish those goals BUT also more likely to take significant ground in other areas of your life!
Motivation and momentum overflow so take some time to review your personal and professional goals and ask yourself…
What would it look like if you gave all your time, energy and resources toward ONE GOAL?
What adjustments would you need to make in order to do this?
What changes would you need to take action on immediately?
What activities do you need to start or stop doing?
Who would you need to pull in to help you get there?
The classic question applies…
One bite at time.
Don’t bite off more than you can chew. It may seem enticing, appealing, and you are ready to roll at the start of the year, but in the end you set yourself up for burnout.
So review that to do list, look at your 2020 goals again, and scale it back and narrow it in.
You’ll be glad you did. It’s a time to let go of trying to master it all and truly dive into that one thing to set you up for success!
